With the car pulling snugly to the left, I let off the gas and dove into the corner like Rusty Wallace at Martinsville. Hugging the inside of the track through the turn, I stood on the pedal and shot to the outside of the front stretch, feeling the satisfying bump-bump of the finish line's paint under my wheels.

Am I a professional wheel man? No ma'am, I'm just a newspaper photographer.
