Henry County senior residents took part in a tea party, Monday, at the Heritage Senior Center, in McDonough. Out-of-county seniors will begin paying a higher fee, in July of 2012, to benefit from programs offered by Henry County Senior Services.
Carolyn Bothuel has been participating in activities at the Heritage Senior Center, since August of 2011. As she prepared to enjoy a tea party at the McDonough center Monday, Bothuel said she disagrees with the increase in fees for out-of-county users of the facility.
Most seniors are on a fixed income, and all that will probably end up doing is cause them not to have an outlet, because they will not choose something that will triple in price like that, said Bothuel, 64, of McDonough. Its very important for all of us to be able to get out to do the kinds of activities and get the services that these centers offer.
