HAMPTON — For the kids running around playing in the water at the Splash Pad at McBrayer Park, there’s not a better way to spend a hot summer day.

Parents and grandparents got in on the fun too, standing under tipping buckets of water or hanging out near the mushroom-like water umbrellas.

The Splash Pad is located in McBrayer Park, 10 Central Ave. in Hampton. It’s open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. When school begins on Aug. 1 the pad will be open Monday-Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day.

Hampton residents who live inside the city limits get a free family season pass. Those outside city limits will need to show a photo ID for proof of residency to obtain a $5 per child one-day pass. Cash only is accepted. Group rates are available.

In addition to the Splash Pad, McBrayer Park offers a tennis court, two picnic pavilions, outdoor skate board area and playground.
