STOCKBRIDGE — Henry County police are investigating the shooting of Stockbridge High School basketball player who just signed a scholarship to Cincinnati State College weeks ago.

Lt. Joey Smith said the 18-year-old, identified by other sources as Devale Johnson, went to Piedmont Henry Medical Center Wednesday night for treatment of a gunshot wound. Police responded to the hospital and talked to the victim. The victim told officers that he was shot while in the grassy, wooded area behind Eagle's Landing High School, said Smith.
