Tim Thompson

STOCKBRIDGE — Mayor Tim Thompson’s attempt at vetoing an ordinance that increases the salary for the mayor and council did not stand, said City Attorney Michael Williams at the Monday city council meeting.

The ordinance increases councilmembers’ pay by 43 percent, from $8,400 to $12,000, and the mayor’s pay by 33 percent, from $10,800 to $14,400. Councilman Anthony Ford voted against the raise and Councilwoman Lakeisha Gantt abstained from voting
