McDONOUGH— The Joint Henry County/ Cities Transportation Plan approved by county commissioners Tuesday showed a need for more north-south roadways throughout the county to accommodate growing traffic congestion along the I-75 corridor.

Michael Kray of Jacobs Engineering presented the study to the Henry County Board of Commissioners Tuesday after the company recieved months of input from members of the public, stakeholders, and transportation department officials. The study, which includes transportation recommendations through the year 2040, examined frequent truck routes, common high-traffic areas and frequent crash areas, and recommended solutions to transportation issues in the county.
