Martha Couch Thomas, 86, of McDonough, died Thursday, March 17, 2011. She was born in Atlanta, to Snowden H., and Ollie Lawler Couch. Mrs. Thomas also was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel L. Thomas, and her brother, Jack Couch. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Thomas, of McDonough; son, Wayne Thomas, of Seneca, S.C.; grandchildren, Brian Hammock, of Decatur, Ga., Tommy Hammock, of Stockbridge; great-grandaughter, Elizabeth Belle Hammock, of Woodstock; brother, Mack Couch, of Clarksville, and several nieces and a nephew. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m., at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Van Winkle and the Rev. Dan McKay officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 18, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
