Harry Johnson

College Park, GA Harry Johnson of Locust Grove, Georgia (formerly a longtime resident of College Park, GA), departed this life on November 6, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sallie and Muriel Johnson, an infant brother Willie, daughter, Lisa Colleen Richmond and uncles, Paul Harper and Dr. William Parker. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; children: Brandon (Brittne) Johnson, April Johnson and step-daughter, Reena Cid; grandchildren: Timisa, Cartese, James, Donovan, Keris, Kyeshawn, Aniya, McKenzie, Makayla, Kailee and Sergio, Jr.; cousin: Vanessa Allen (and children); brother in-law/sister-in-law: Fred Strickland and Karen House; special friends: Al Hawkins ("Toy"), James Fearn and Aida Rentas, as well as other relatives and friends. Harry was born in Rocky Mount, NC, but spent his formative years in Buffalo, NY and Washington, DC. He graduated from Anacostia High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He later attended Maryland Institute College of Fine Arts in Baltimore, MD to pursue his talent as an artist and the study of environmental and industrial design.

Harry was a steadfast, loyal and dependable man, who loved his family and would do anything within his power to help them. His presence and essence will be sorely missed. A Memorial Tribute will be scheduled for a future date. Harry had great compassion for the homeless and wounded veterans, so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a homeless shelter or charity assisting disabled veterans.
