William R. Lee (Bill), age 85 of McDonough, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019. He was born in Plant City, FL to the late Lonnie N. Lee and Vera Mae Neal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Leonard Lee and Thomas Lee and his son Jeffrey B. Lee.
He is survived by his sister Ann White of Arkansas; brother; Donald Lee of Florida; daughter; Ann (Kyle) Greer of Hampton and grandsons; Peyton and Caleb Greer.
Bill graduated from Hillsborough High, Tampa, FL; studied Industrial Arts at University of Tampa; studied Drafting in the U.S. Army where he served from 1953-1956 with a tour of duty in Korea.
He was a State Certified Georgia Appraiser IV; Master Senior Appraiser and worked on projects and for counties throughout Georgia before retirement from Dekalb county.
He was a frequent contributor of the American Red Cross, Ga Public Broadcasting and The National Park Service. Spending time outdoors whether at home working in his beautiful yard or taking his camper for a week to a state park was one of his most enjoyable things to do in life.
He was also a skilled artist with paintings commissioned during his time in the Army and in the 60's and 70's. Bill was still enjoying painting as a hobby during recent months.
A private service will be held at a later date in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge.
