DUNEDIN, Fla. – No matter where Travis Bergen is on the mound, he knows his role model is only a phone call away.

The Toronto Blue Jays seventh-round pick in 2015 regularly phones his dad before his starts, and credits him for many of the fond memories he’s had playing baseball. Growing up in McDonough, Ga., Bergen’s dad got him into the game at the age of three, coached him through his teen years and has always gone the extra mile to make him a better baseball player.
