Brett Campbell is looking to improve in 2020 as he’s continuing to search for a college.

HAMPTON — Brett Campbell’s recruitment has slowly progressed, but he’s still one of the many uncommitted athletes who are just looking for the right fit.

It’s still worth talking about his journey. In a time of “recruit now, ask questions later,” Campbell has taken his time to find the right fit, but it’s not just for him.

“Picking the school that’s right for not only me but my family,” Campbell said, “taking the time to thoroughly review all my options, the offers, the location, academics and the baseball program. It’s a really important decision because this is where I’ll be for the next four years.”

However, there are some things that Campbell wants to do this year to elevate his game play. Looking back at his junior campaign earlier in 2019, Campbell averaged .282 at the plate with seven RBIs and 20 hits.

He’s also focused on staying consistent and getting stronger and faster. However, it’s worth noting that Campbell is sure that baseball is not an overshadowed sport to get recruited for.

“I believe baseball is really big in the South and highly competitive, which I love,” Campbell said enthusiastically. “That’s what drives me to play this amazing game.”
