The Union Grove Wolverines were among the programs that competed in the Saucony Battle of Atlanta.

HAMPTON — The Saucony Battle of Atlanta Cross Country event held as Nash Farms Battlefield this past weekend was interesting as local programs had varying successes.

GIRLSThe Union Grove Lady Wolverines led the county with a seventh place finish in the event. Gabby Parsons led the way with a ninth place finish and a time of 20:01.83. Bianca Parsons (20:14.62) placed 14th in the event for Union Grove High as the second best runner. Carson Brantley (21:25.05) placed 40th, Lilly Dunn (22:22.36) placed 72nd as Kalkidan Hawkins (23:33.04) took home 107th.

Strong Rock Lady Patriots placed 31st overall as a team.

BOYSThe Union Grove Wolverines placed 17th overall with Domonic Macias (16:54.43) taking 17th. The Strong Rock Patriots placed 20th as a program and behind Noah Kilgore’s (17:27.63) 39th place finish.

Ola High was able to place 25th as a team with Samuel Brown (17:59.44) placing 68th to lead the program. Woodland High took home 37th as Eagle’s Landing Christian School and Hampton High rounded out the team standings with 38th and 39th respectively.
