NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Clark Phillips III (34) breaks up a pass intended for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (14) in the second half on Dec. 10 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons cornerback Clark Phillips III had an up-and-down rookie season that was riddled with an injury to start training camp, and then a lack of playing time early on. However, his football season ended with flashes of his potential on display.

A fourth-round draft pick by Atlanta in 2023, Phillips appeared in 11 games as a rookie on defense as well as spending some time on special teams. Starting in five of those appearances, he recorded 27 total tackles, 22 solo tackles and five pass breakups.
