STOCKBRIDGE — Stockbridge High senior running back B.J. Riley has won this week’s Fan’s Choice Football Player of the Week Poll with 938 votes.
Riley’s total was good for 37 percent of the total vote. Coming in second place was Woodland High’s Devin Delaine with 861 votes (34 percent), followed by Eagle’s Landing High’s Emanuel Stores (629, 25 percent) and Hampton High’s Matthew Slagel (107, 5 percent).
Riley has fit in well at Stockbridge through the first few games of the season. He leads the team in rushing with 255 yards. Last week against Dutchtown he rushed for 111 yards in a 13-7 win.
“B.J. has done a great job thus far,” Stockbridge head coach Kevin Whitley said. “He is a tough kid who plays hard every day. He will only get better as the season goes.”
