McDonough High returns to the floor this season but have to fill gaps left by the departed seniors.

MCDONOUGH Lady Warhawks

Head Coach: Greg Shook

2018-19 Record: 28-3 (Lost to Flowery Branch in Elite Eight)

Key Returners: Sky Watters, Nya Pope, JaNiyah Alexander

Season Outlook: McDonough High finished last season in the Elite Eight but it's apparent the program wanted more in the 54-50 loss to Flowery Branch.

Entering this season, it's the third season for Greg Shook who will have to deal with another season of finding new playmakers. The top four scorers from last season have all graduated including Briana Juniel (17.4 ppg), Paris Mullins (12.8 ppg), Janiya Jones (12.2 ppg) and A'Maiya Jackson (11.8 ppg).

This also doesn't account for role player Mia Culpepper who could burn teams with her passing and ability to run a floor.

But there is some hope around the team for this season. McDonough had no juniors last season and should be well placed with many juniors and no seniors (that played considerably last year).

Expect this to be a year where the Lady Warhawks scrape for the tough wins as they spirit of the Lady Warhawks should still be as prevalent as ever.
