Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been ruled out for this weekend's road game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Olsen sustained a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit by Washington Redskins defensive end Ryan Anderson in the third quarter of the Panthers' 29-21 setback this past Sunday.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Olsen did not practice all week as Carolina (5-7) prepares to face NFC South rival Atlanta (3-9) on Sunday (1 p.m. ET).

Fellow tight end Ian Thomas is expected to receive a boost in playing time in place of the 34-year-old Olsen, who has recorded 48 receptions for 552 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Thomas, 23, has five catches for 28 yards this season.

Also on Friday, the Panthers announced that offensive tackle Greg Little will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle injury.

Defensive end Mario Addison (groin) and offensive tackle Garrett McGhin (ankle) were listed as questionable after being limited participants in Friday's practice.
