The first XFL championship game will take place at the University of Houston's TDECU Stadium, according to a Houston Chronicle report.

The report said the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority and XFL will announce the decision on Thursday.

The championship game for the XFL's inaugural season will be played April 26 at 2 p.m. ET and air on ESPN. After a 10-game regular season, the top two teams from each division will play in semifinal games before the championship.

The 42,000-seat stadium serves as the home venue for the Houston Roughnecks, one of the league's eight teams.
