With J.T. Daniels becoming Georgia’s starting quarterback, frequent texts and phone conversations with two sports luminaries have come this way — an all-star twosome of Aaron Boone, manager of the New York Yankees, and Archie Manning, Ole Miss great and progenitor of the Manning quarterback clan.

It wasn’t difficult to become familiar with J.T.’s sensational freshman year at the University of Southern California. He had such a memorable first year that his name was relatively familiar to collegiate football fans across the country.
