McDONOUGH — The softball season is approaching, and there will be plenty of things to go over in 2019 — but the first stop of the season happens to be the All-County Preseason list.

The Henry Herald picked its All-Henry County Preseason team.

Among those expected to play well this season, eyes will be on the pitchers Brooke McCubbin from Locust Grove High and Skylar Trahan of Hampton High. McCubbin has been on two state championship teams and pitched her team to the title in Columbus in 2018.

Trahan and the Lady Hornets reached the Final Four and were the No. 3 team in Class AAAA at the end of the season.

The under-the-radar players who had big seasons are Eagle’s Landing High’s Toni Waczkowski, who batted .528 in her junior campaign, and ELCA’s Hannah Smith, who averaged .460 at the plate.
