Stockbridge High has a new head coach in Steve Boyd but they’ll have a lot to look forward to in 2019.

Outlook: The 2018 campaign was a strange year for the Tigers who lost the region title to Dutchtown but nearly broke through to the Mercedees-Benz stadium. However, a strange play and a lot of questions behind the loss, led to a chain of events that highlight 2019.

Kevin Whitley stepped down and Steve Boyd was named the replacement. Throughout all of the upper level changes, the Tigers will have to reload after losing more than 20 seniors. The best part of it all though, is quarterback Jevon McDonald returns with two-way player Jalen Taylor.

Although Boyd has been with the program for a few seasons, he’ll have to replace a lot of defensive talent like Steven Esan, Kerick Reese and Chris Parson to name a few. But there are some returners like John Prince to build around.
