Union Grove High was eliminated despite a hard fought win over Woodland.

STOCKBRIDGE - The Union Grove Wolverines did everything right Friday night but fate was as cruel it could be when the final whistle blew.

The Wolverines needed a win, that much was done when they picked up the 47-14 victory over Woodland but fate had other things in store for the Wolverines. Union Grove needed either Ola or Stockbridge to lose to have a chance.

That didn't unfold that way and the disappointment was felt throughout the county as Union Grove hand no way of controlling the outcome of the other two games.

After the game, however heartbreaking it was, Chad Frazier was still proud of his team.

"Our senior class has brought this program back to relevance," Frazier said. "I'm very proud of them."
