Many people from other parts of the country are moving to our area. Wherever I go, I see many out-of-state license plates. Since many are not native Georgians, they must deal with our hard red clay soil for the first time.

Gardening in it is quite an adjustment, even for experienced ones from other parts of the country. Many resort to incorporating a lot of soil amendments to try to recreate the rich black soils familiar to many of them, which, unfortunately, can create significant problems.
