McDonough City Council Make Updates to Zoning Code

MCDONOUGH — The McDonough City Council voted unanimously Aug. 19 to allow for public, private and vocational schools to qualify for special use permits in Office-Institutional (O-I) zoning districts. This decision led to the council’s approval of the Heritage Montessori School to be located at 262 Macon St.

The school will share a portion of the building that is currently Shiloh Baptist Church. The Montessori school offers a unique, hands-on approach to education for students in grades K-12.
