R. E. Nelson, Sr.

R. E. Nelson, Sr., 79, of Stockbridge, passed away Feb. 14, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Gentry Nelson; five children, Jean and husband, Duane Benefield, of Locust Grove, Buddy Nelson, Marion E. and wife, Elaine Nelson, of Cartersville, Judith (Rusti) Nelson, of Franklin, N.C., Zane Paul and wife, Rhonda Nelson, of Locust Grove; sisters, Myrtice Williams, of Dublin, Melba Veal, of Dexter, and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Nathan, F.C. and H.L. Nelson, all who were World War II Veterans.
