A Friend's House, Inc., is planning its Second Annual Southside Ride to Break the Cycle, and organizers are hoping for a hefty turnout in this year's escorted bike ride and fund-raiser.

The cost to participate is $20 per rider, and $10 for passengers. Proceeds from the Oct. 2 event will support A Friend's House, the citizen-driven, non-profit organization created in 1995 to provide a home for children in crisis, which also works to break the cycle of child abuse, abandonment, and neglect. The home officially opened its doors on Oct. 27, 1998, and has served more than 1,600 children since.
