Change proposed to Stockbridge special election bill

STOCKBRIDGE— Georgia House representatives passed an amended version of a bill that would allow Stockbridge to have a special election for mayor.

The amended version of Senate Bill 362, sponsored by Sen. Emanuel Jones, passed in the House Tuesday. In its amended version, the bill also allows for a special election in the event of a council member vacancy.
