MCDONOUGH Even at 8 a.m., the sun was brutal over the heads of nearly 80 volunteers who participated in Saturdays eighth annual walk-a-thon to benefit People First.

But that didnt stop the walkers from making the 1.2-mile trek from the Henry County Board of Education Administration Building south to the McDonough Square and back again. They donned hats and sunglasses, and carried towels and water bottles against the Georgia summer sun.
