Applicants sought for Stockbridge Youth Advisory Council despite lack of details

STOCKBRIDGE— In a split decision, Stockbridge City Council voted Tuesday to move forward with accepting applications for a Stockbridge Youth Advisory Board to oversee a soon-to-be created Stockbridge Youth Council, though no guidelines, goal, or even budget has been officially set for the either of the two groups.

Councilman John Blount initiated the discussion and voted against the move, stating that the city council should have more definitive details in place about the youth council before soliciting applicants. Councilwoman Lakeisha Gantt also voted against, citing similar concerns and pointing out that it is unclear how many members will even serve on the youth advisory board.
