Clayton County officials are hoping a visit from the Republic of Cte d'Ivoire's ambassadors to the U.S., and the United Nations, will lead to new trade relations between the county and the west African nation.

Clayton County officials have been targeting seven western African countries, including the Republic of Cte d'Ivoire (also known as the Ivory Coast), for trade relations for the last five years, said the county's Director of Economic Development Grant Wainscott.
