In light of all the recent press given the decision by the City of Stockbridge to exercise its power of eminent domain to redevelop its central business district, I would like to take this opportunity to remind Henry County citizens that the Board of Commissioners passed a resolution in July balancing the exercise of its power of eminent domain to condemn property for public purpose with the state and federal constitutional protections of private property.
