Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough hosted a Day of Champions event Sunday, Aug. 4, featuring University of Georgia head baseball coach Wes Johnson, who shared his faith story and journey. In the spring of 2023, Johnson was named the head baseball coach at UGA and in his first season in 2024, guided the Bulldogs to a 43-17 record and trip to the NCAA Super Regional. He previously was pitching coach for Louisiana State in 2023, the Minnesota Twins from 2019 to 2022, Arkansas from 2017 to 2018 and Mississippi State in 2016.
