DDA director J.T. Williams files claim against Stockbridge for payment

STOCKBRIDGE— Stockbridge Downtown Development Authority Executive Director J.T. Williams is suing the city of Stockbridge for $13,000 in salary, despite the fact the DDA board voted March 11 to terminate his contract.

Williams, though, claims the DDA does not have the authority to terminate his contract since a legal ruling in November stated that the city of Stockbridge is responsible for all contracts and agreements made by the DDA. Furthermore, Williams said he would not agree to language in the separation agreement, and therefore is still employed with the DDA and consequently is entitled to his salary.
