Don't let killer escape justice

In today's world we have so many catch-phrases that we automatically jump to them when the news flashes a horror story. "Better security," we cried when we heard the Brian Nichols tragedy. The Nichols incident had nothing to do with security and everything to do with opportunity. Like so many of us, Nichols is an opportunist. We don't go out to have a fender-bender, but if one occurs, we roll around in the car holding our necks. Opportunity has knocked. Brian Nichols also saw an opportunity and took it as well. No gun was smuggled into the courthouse. No contraband was sneaked into the courtroom. Opportunity knocked and Nichols took full advantage. We can't legislate opportunity.
