Some unsung heroes were recognized for their work in contacting the proper agencies during emergencies. The Henry County Emergency Management and 911 Center observed National Telecommunicator Week, April 8-14.

The week dedicated to the dispatchers and telecommunications personnel was established in 1991 by the United States Congress, to raise awareness of the hard work and devoted 9-1-1 operators, dispatchers along with other telecommunications employees.
