Fireworks lit up the sky behind the Historic Courthouse on the Square in Covington in 2019 before the pandemic cancelled Fourth of July festivities in 2020. Covington will host a fireworks display on July 4th, but the festival will not take place this year.

Fireworks will once again brighten the skies the east metro area with several Fourth of July celebrations set to take place over the holiday weekend.

After a pandemic hiatus last year, Conyers’ Independence Day celebration — Red, White & Boom! — returns this year on July 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
