McDONOUGH— A bench trial has been set for Sept. 28 in the case of former Henry County commission chair candidate Larry Morey who has been indicted for child cruelty in the second degree.
A Feb. 19, 2015, indictment states that Morey caused “cruel and excessive, physical pain by striking said child about the body” during an October 2014 incident in which he allegedly disciplined a child with a belt at the ABC Montessori school where Morey was an administrator. He pleaded not guilty to the charge Feb. 23, 2015.
