Former Stockbridge city clerk Merle Manders receives Georgia Municipal Association award

STOCKBRIDGE — Former Stockbridge City Clerk Merle Manders received the Lifetime Service Award from the Georgia Municipal Association in recognition of her 35 years of service to the city. The award was presented Monday to Manders at the Stockbridge City Council meeting.

Manders worked diligently for Stockbridge alongside elected officials to accomplish several goals, according to a press release from GMA. Opened in spring 1992, the Stockbridge Conference Center was named the Merle Manders Conference Center in honor of her dedication to the planning of the center.
