MCDONOUGH — In an update posted to the Henry County Board of Education YouTube channel Thursday evening, Henry County School System Superintendent Mary Davis confirmed the recent cyber attack on the school’s network was done by a group of criminals outside the United States.

She also said the school system verified Thursday that the incident, which forced the system to shut down its internet on Nov. 9, was a criminal attempt at ransomware.
