McDONOUGH — Hundreds of events have been cancelled around the metro area due to the coronavirus. Unfortunately, many have been some of the largest fundraisers of the year for local nonprofit organizations.
Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove had to cancel its 10th Annual Zebra Dash 5K and 1-mile run. It’s a fundraiser the sanctuary counts on to help feed and care for its the more than 1,000 animals. On top of that, the facility has had to close its animal habitat area, playground and picnic area to the public, effectively cutting off funds from tours and visitor donations during the busiest time of the year.
