Henry schools in various states of construction, renovation

McDONOUGH — Construction and renovations are ongoing at several Henry County schools.

Renovations in group No. 3, which includes Austin Road Elementary and Middle schools and Cotton Indian Elementary, are wrapping up. Each project is in the final phase of construction with a completion date set for Dec. 19. Updates include a new bus ramp canopy and ceiling tiles at Austin Road Elementary. Austin Road Middle received roofing and gym renovations while Cotton Indian Elementary received new skylights, carpet and tile replacement. Nix-Fowler Construction from Mableton was awarded the contract for about $9.6 million.
