LOCUST GROVE — Those who knew Jama Hedgecoth remember her gentle soul and giving nature, but what resonates for most who reflect on her legacy is her advocacy for humans and animals in the community.

On Monday, Nov. 20 Hedgecoth succumbed to her battle with cancer, her family reported.
