Henry teacher vies for national award

Special Photo Debbie Peabody, an architectural/engineering drawing instructor at Union Grove High, is finalist for the National SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year. It is the second national recognition the veteran educator has received over the past year.

Debbie Peabody is a veteran educator, who recently took on a similar role as pupils she has taught and encouraged over the years. Like her students, she is preparing to compete against a nationally ranked field of her peers.

This weekend, she will join nine of her Union Grove High School SkillsUSA team members as they contend for the National SkillsUSA Championships, during the 48th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Kansas City, Mo.
