At its Monday meeting, the Henry County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the renaming of North Ola Park to Gary Barham Park. “This decision is a testament to Commissioner Barham’s unwavering dedication and the indelible impact he left on our community from 2013 to 2021,” a statement from Henry County government read. “Commissioner Barham’s legacy is beautifully reflected in the park’s transformation, as he passionately led initiatives to enhance and upgrade its facilities. His vision and commitment continue to resonate through the joyful laughter and cherished memories shared by families who visit the park.” After the approval, county commissioners posed with Barham’s family for a photo. “It was a touching moment to have Commissioner Barham’s family present as we unveiled the new park name,” a statement read. “Their presence serves as a reminder of the deep connection between Commissioner Barham and the community he tirelessly served.”
