The Butts County Sheriff’s Office hosted a three-day K9 first responder/paramedic course Oct. 3-5 through Iron Dog K9 International of McDonough. In the class, K9 handlers from the BCSO were joined by law enforcement officers from Georgia Tech, the Molena Police Department and the South Fulton Police Department.

Irondog K9 International is a non-profit organization that works to equip, protect and train law enforcement K9 teams. The group sponsors local musician Mark Ware who introduced them to the BCSO K9 team. The class was presented in partnership with K9 Medic.
