To the editor:

I was shocked to see the quote in your paper stating that gangs in Henry County are almost nonexistent. Therefore, I decided to poll 50 of the students that I work with on a regular basis. These students are from a variety of high schools in Henry County. Of the students polled, 47 of the 50 students answered yes to the question about gang activity being evident in Henry County. That's 94% of the high school students stating they know of evidence of gang activity in Henry County. Why is there such a difference between your poll and mine? I'm not sure; it could be a generation gap or that one group has more of a finger on the pulse of what is happening in the county when it comes to whether or not gangs exist. I wonder which group?
