LOCUST GROVE – The Locust Grove City Council welcomed two new council members to its ranks at its Monday meeting.

Councilmen Rudy Breedlove and Rod Shearouse were sworn in to the City Council at the meeting, which was Locust Grove’s first meeting of the year. While the two started the meeting sitting with other citizens, both took their seats in the chamber dais after being sworn in.

In addition, Councilman Carlos Greer and Mayor Robert Price were sworn in to start off their next terms in office. Greer and Price were re-elected by voters in November.

The new council members as well as the returning Greer and Price were joined by family and friends as they took their oaths of office from Judge Jimmy Brown.

In November balloting, Greer received the most votes of all candidates with 431 votes, Shearouse received 276 votes and Breedlove received 265 votes, one more vote than Otis Hammock, who had been an incumbent.
