STOCKBRIDGE— State officials approved a resolution this legislative session to name a bridge in Stockbridge in honor of Martin Luther King Sr.

State Rep. Andy Welch (R-McDonough) presented to the Stockbridge City Council Tuesday House Resolution 1052, which would allow the renaming of the bridge over the railroad tracks at North and South Berry Streets (recently renamed MLK Sr. Heritage Trail) on Ga. Highway 42, to be dedicated as the Martin Luther King Sr. Memorial Bridge.
