Fitzgerald man handed federal court sentence, two found illegally in southwest Georgia

Federal search warrants were executed at 13 locations in Cook and Tift Counties in a joint law enforcement operation involving FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, GBI, Cook Co. Sheriff’s Office, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Adel Police Department and Hahira Police Department.

MACON — A Covington resident admitted in federal court to supplying a large quantity of methamphetamine to a drug dealer in the Monroe County community.

Frank Settambrino, 63, of Covington, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine before U.S. District Judge Marc Treadwell recently. Settambrino faces a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment and a $1 million fine. Sentencing is scheduled for July 6. There is no parole in the federal system.
