Walter Cleveland “W.C.” Norsworthy, age 80, of Jackson, died Wednesday evening, July 27, 2011. He was born in Butts County Aug. 6, 1930, son of the late Howard (Dauber) Norsworthy and Mildred McClure Norsworthy. W.C. was in the United States Army from 1950 to 1956. He retired in 1976 from Robins Air Force Base, following 26 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Lunsford Norsworthy; children, Teena and Wayne Lawhon, Tondi Norsworthy, Tanzi and Dennis Morgan; grandchildren, Misty Carmichael, Tondi (T.J.) Norsworthy and Kyle Norsworthy; great-grandchildren, Brittany Carmichael, Mylah Swann, Thomas Carmichael, Ian, Haley and Damon. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Troy, Tebo and Buddy. Funeral services were held Friday, July 29 at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Dr. Ed Hoard officiated with interment in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at the Norsworthy residence on Nelson Street.
