STOCKBRIDGE — A proposal to update the city of Stockbridge Code of Conduct was not well received by Councilman Elton Alexander, who opined that the change would limit council members’ freedom of speech.

Stockbridge Councilman John Blount told the city council during Monday’s meeting that he requested that City Attorney Michael Williams draft an update to the code stipulating council members’ personal opinion when making statements to the public or media.
